Sailing Camp

The BLBC Sailing Camp is a 100% sailing program. This day camp is offered to adolescents aged 12 to 16 years old who wish to learn basic sailing skills or who wish to further develop their abilities in a fun and non competitive setup.

The Club is a member of the Quebec Sailing Federation and offers a Learn to Sail program certified by the Canadian Yachting Association. Sailors who meet learning objectives are provided with their White Sail levels I, II or III.

Courses include:

  • Ashore knowledge: security, seamanship, terminology, lateral buoyage system, rules of the road , etc.
  • Afloat skills: rigging, boat handling, wind direction, points of sail, etc.
  • Informal regatta
  • Fun races with obstacles
  • Lunch at the Island or at the Marina

Optional activities may be added to the regular Program:

  • Sail to the other side of the lake and camp overnight at Camping des Érables
  • Prepare for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card test
  • Official races on the Quebec circuit
  • Initiation to catamaran sailing
  • Initiation to windsurfing
  • Initiation to scuba diving
  • etc.

The Sailing Camp runs from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. Campers can arrive earlier or stay later but they will be without supervision.

Similarly to other activities at the Club, the Sailing Camp is available for members ($220 per week) and their guests ($280 per week).

Additionally, this year the Sailing Camp will be offered to non-members ($320 per week). Adolescents who have not previously attended the Club as members, can use this privilege for one year’s time.
